The LHU community has access to both on-campus and off-campus counseling services.

On-Campus

The LHU Counseling Center offers free counseling to students. The Counseling Center is open 8 - 4, Monday - Friday, with offices in Russell Hall. To make an appointment, please call 570-484-2479 or see Susan Birdsey in Russell Hall Room 115. We have 2 licensed psychologists on staff - Dr. Dan Tess, Ph.D., HSPP (Director of Student Counseling Services) and Dr. Robert Franz.

We also have 2 licensed counselors on staff - Carla Langdon, M.Ed., LPC, CRC, NCC; and Mary O’Neill, M.Ed.

 Off-Campus

The GLBT National Hotline can be reached by calling 1-888-843-4564

The GLBT National Youth Hotline can be reached by calling 1-800-246-7743 (for people under the age of 25)

 The LGBT Youth Crisis line can be reached by calling 1-800-347-8336

The Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists provides educational materials, counseling, and referrals.

The GLBT National Help Center provides free peer counseling.
