The Lock Haven Safe Zone was created to provide a support network for students who may face discrimination or conflict in society, particularly students who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. We have members from the Lock Haven University faculty, staff, and administration. These members can generally be recognized by a "Safe Zone" symbol placed somewhere on the member's office door. A list of the Safe Zone Members/Allies can be found by clicking on "Allies" in the bar to the left, or clicking here.
The Lock Haven Safe Zone has seven primary objectives:
(1). Providing factual
information and correcting misinformation on the topics of sexual and gender
identity; This website is designed to be a resource to people interested in becoming part of Safe Zone, students who may have questions regarding gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender issues, and friends or families of people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. Information for people interested in becoming a part of Safe Zone can be found by clicking on "Safe Zone" in the bar to the left, or clicking here. Information for students can be found by clicking on "Students" in the bar to the left, or clicking here. Information for friends or family can be found by clicking on "Loved Ones" in the bar to the left, or clicking here. We are always looking for ways to improve this site. If you have any suggestions for links or information, please contact us.
