Resources for
Safe Zone Allies

This page is designed to provide information that will be helpful to the faculty, staff, and administrators that consider themselves to be Allies. It is mainly a list of links to outside information, as well as some information on the LHU campus. One of the most difficult aspects of being an Ally is simply knowing how to provide support and understanding to GLBT students. Our "Support" page provides ways on providing support to those students. Also, please be sure to visit our Allies FAQ page for more information. National Information The National Consortium of LGBT Directors in Higher Education has an excellent FAQ section. Existing Safe Zones Several universities have existing Safe Zones. Below are some links to the more extensive Safe Zone sites, including resource manuals. Duke University's SAFE on Campus Cornell University's Safe Zone The College of William and Mary's Safe Zone Additional Resources Pennsylvania State University's LGBT Resource Center Podcast of Interview with Dr. Roberts, an Ethics Professor at OSU (the podcast is of a radio interview that lasts approximately 25 minutes)
