|
This site is designed to provide some initial information for GLBT students. It is divided into sections regarding social support, personal support, counseling services, medical services and additional resources. Please be sure to visit our Students FAQ page to find additional information. Lock Haven has a student group, the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) to provide a form of social support for GLBT students. They also attempt to increase communication between GLBT and non-GLBT students. For more information about GSA, please visit our GSA Website. The Safe Zone provides support for students seeking more information about GLBT issues, as well as a "safe haven." The Safe Zone members, also known as Allies, can be found by clicking here. LHU students have access to both on-campus and off-campus counseling services. For more information on the services available, please visit our Counseling page. There are several resources available to students looking for health information. All LHU community members can make use of the Glennon Infirmary, which has both doctors and nurses on staff. For information regarding other medical resources, please visit the Medical Resources page. The LHU Equity Office is available for students who feel that they are being discriminated against. If you feel you are being discriminated against this is where you start to right the wrong. GLBT Scholarships are available from a variety of sources. Please visit the GLBT Scholarships page for more information. There are several additional online resources that provide information on educational, career, and social opportunities, as well as discrimination issues. Please visit our Resources page for links to a wide variety of information.
