J.J. Jumper to Appear at LHU Basketball Games

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – J.J. Jumper, the official basketball mascot of the NCAA, will appear at Lock Haven University’s men’s and women’s basketball games against Edinboro University Saturday, Feb. 19 at 1 and 3 p.m. in the Thomas Fieldhouse. J.J. will perform throughout the day as part of LHU’s Take-a-Kid-to-the-Game Day.

J.J. Jumper’s purpose is to increase enthusiasm and awareness of NCAA Basketball, educating youth on healthy physical, emotional and educational values. The 2004-05 season is the program’s fifth.

A 6-foot-5 green creature with orange hair, size 26 shoes and a big heart, J.J. was created in 1999 to help institutions reach younger fans and bring them to the game of basketball.

As part of the Take-a-Kid-to-the-Game Day promotion, kids get in free with purchase of half-priced adult tickets ($3). Participants in The Second Mile program, along with their college “buddies”, will be the game’s special guests.

J.J. Jumper will have plenty of NCAA basketball free giveaways and prizes. Both teams will be signing autographs after each of their games as an extra bonus for all Lock Haven fans.
