LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
– Former Lock haven University athletes Lilian
Bortoto (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Campos Salles) and Kristin Frantz
(Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) have received the NCAA Division II
Degree-Compliance Award. The award is given to well-rounded
student-athletes who are in need of an extra year or less to complete their
degree.
Bortoto was a member of the two-time
defending conference and regional championship volleyball teams. She was
second on the team that finished first in the nation in block percentage
with 165 total blocks. Bortoto was named to the Daktronics All-Atlantic
Region Second Team. The Lady Eagles finished 59-10 in Bortoto’s two years
on the team.
Frantz was a four-year member of the
Lady Eagle softball team. A career .255 hitter, Frantz was a starting
outfielder for the 2005 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West
Champions. She was a second- team member of the ESPN The Magazine Academic
All-District team, and a four-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete.
To be eligible for this award, a
student-athlete must have completed athletic eligibility and possess a 2.5
cumulative grade-point average. The applicant must also be within 30 hours
of completion of an undergraduate degree.
