LHU Softball's Shuey Earns PSAC West Pitcher of the Week Nod

   
 

(Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Molly Shuey (Tower City/Williams Valley), a junior on the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania softball team, was selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Pitcher of the Week for games ending April 4.
         Shuey made two appearances in the pitcher’s circle last week, breaking down the opponent offenses to allow for a combined five hits and only one unearned run. She struck out eight while giving up just three hits in a 9-1 victory over Edinboro University .  Shuey then picked up her first shutout win of the season with an 8-0 decision over California (Pa.) University after holding the Vulcans to only two hits and no walks or runs over the five-inning match-up. 
        This season, Shuey has made eight appearances with seven starts. She currently sports a 3-4 win-loss record and a 3.80 ERA.  
        The Lady Eagle softball team, now 12-9 overall and first in the PSAC Western Division with a 4-0 ledger, will next travel to California ( Pa. ) University for a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Tues., April 6.
