Haven Volleyball Ranked 24th in AVCA Preseason

Haven
University
of
Pennsylvania
women’s volleyball team has been ranked No. 24 in the CSTV/American
Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll
as recently released. The full
listing of the pre-season edition of the AVCA’s Division II Coaches Top 25
Poll can be located at www.avca.org.
The
2003 Lady Eagles went 31-6, earning a share of the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference (PSAC) Western Division regular season title, winning the PSAC
tournament crown and the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championship before
advancing to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. The Haven ended its season in
the national quarterfinals in a 3-2 loss versus the
University
of
North Alabama
, the eventual national champion.
Long-time mentor
Tom Justice, who enters his 14th season as head coach of the Lady
Eagle squad, returns 14 letterwinners and welcomes in four new talented members
for the 2004 campaign. Middle hitter Cherry Li (Shanghai, China) returns after leading the NCAA Division
II in attack percentage (.471) last season and earning PSAC West Rookie of the
Year honors. The list of returners also includes NCAA Atlantic Region
All-Tournament team members and starters Lillian

).
The Lady Eagles
open up the new season on August 27 when they travel to

for a two-day tournament for matches against
