The Marauders are likely to put forward junior AdamBunting (2-2) at 125 pounds and either junior Matt Maisano (1-2) or junior Shawn Blanchard (0-2) at 149 pounds. Veteran starter Jesse Reed was the regional runner up last season, and brings a 2-2 record into the 165-pound match-up. Sophomore Mark Knock (1-2) will occupy the mat at 184 pounds after rolling out a 20-wins season as a freshman. Junior Aaron Smith (2-2) will handle the 197 pound bout, while the Marauders could front either junior Jeremy Wampler (1-2) or sophomore Mike Davidowich (0-2) at heavyweight.

Below is the LHU weight-by-weight preview:

125: Sophomore Jim Collins (Jonestown/Northern Lebanon) has an 0-2 ledger so far this season, making appearances at the East Stroudsburg Open and the Mat-Town USA Invitational. Collins was a third-place finisher at last year’s PSAC tournament and was sixth at the EWL championships.

133: The graduation of national qualifier Justin Owens means that there will be a new face at 133 pounds this season, and the Bald Eagles should go with either true freshman Casey Moore (Beech Creek/Central Mountain) or junior James Barnes (Windsor, Conn./Windsor). Moore, a two-time state qualifier from nearby Central Mountain High School, is 7-4 overall and captured runner-up honors at the East Stroudsburg Open two weekends ago. Barnes has constructed an early record of 4-4 following an eighth-place finish at last Saturday’s Mat-Town USA Invite.

141: Red-shirt freshman Nick Hawrylchak (Altamont, N.Y./Guildeyland) will challenge for the win at 141 pounds. Hawrylchak is 1-4, scoring his first win of the season with a third period fall over Joey Carpenter of Virginia at last weekend’s Mat-Town USA tournament.

149: Two-time All-American Mike Maney (Clarence/Bald Eagle Area) now occupies the 149-pound slot, boasting an 11-2 ledger including four wins by fall. Maney won the West Virginia Open and placed second at the Mat-Town USA Invitational after a 6-2 loss to No. 2-ranked Dustin Manotti of Cornell in the finals. He is currently ranked 10th in the nation at 149 pounds. Another Bald Eagle, red-shirt freshman Brian Hoover (Halifax/Halifax), could also take the mat here. Hoover is 2-4 on the season with both wins coming by fall.

157: Charlie Brenneman (Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg) or Seth Martin (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) are the two likely candidates to earn the starting nod from Coach Bonomo at 157 pounds. Brenneman, a senior, won the West Virginia Open, was second at the East Stroudsburg Open then placed third at last weekend’s Mat-Town USA Invite. At 8-2 on the season, he is in good form to avenge a loss to Millersville’s Pequignot, who pinned the Bald Eagle in the consolation bracket at the PSAC tournament last season. Martin is a red-shirt freshman who has accumlated a 4-6 ledger.

165: Senior returning NCAA qualifier Jason Gilligan (Brookville/Brookville) is 3-1 this season, placing sixth at the Mat-Town USA Invite. Gilligan advanced to the quarterfinals of the Mat-Town tournament, losing in a 3-2 tiebreaker to Clarion’s Jeremy Reitz. He scored two more wins in the consolation bracket to pick up his sixth-place finish. The Bald Eagles could also go with red-shirt freshman Carlos Ponce (Hialeah, Fla./Hialeah Miami Lakes), who is 5-6 and wound up eighth at the Mat-Town tournament.

174: Dan Riggs (Hanover/Delone Catholic) or Ryan Summers (Plainwell, Mich./Plainwell) take over at 174 pounds. Riggs, a junior, is 1-2 this season, while red-shirt frosh Summers is 5-5 on the year.

184: Back for one more year at 184 pounds is senior Mike Greenberg (Canton/Canton). Greenberg is 2-4 and most recently finished sixth at 184 pounds at the Mat-Town USA tournament. At last year’s PSAC tournament, Greenberg met up with Millersville’s Mark Knock, beating the Marauder 6-1 in the first round of the consolation bracket.

197: Sophomore Morgan Horner (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J./Hasbrouck Heights) brings a 4-2 record and a No. 11 national ranking into this Thursday’s competition. Horner was a fourth-place finisher at the Mat-Town USA Invite last weekend and also won the West Virginia Open earlier in the season. Of his four wins, two were by major decision and the other two were by fall.

HWT: The Bald Eagles will have either senior Steve Itterly (Bethlehem/Nazareth) or sophomore Tim Meyers (Mill Hall/Central Mountain) at work for them at heavyweight. Itterly, the returning starter, was seventh at last weekend’s Mat-Town USA tournament and is 3-2 on the season. Meyers is currently 1-4 overall.

UP NEXT: Lock Haven University’s next dual meet is Dec. 14, when it will travel for the Clarion Duals. LHU is scheduled to face Kent State University at 1 p.m., Drexel University at 3 p.m. and the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown at 5 p.m.
