Maney Becomes 14th Wrestler in LHU History To Reach 100 Wins

(Lock Haven, Pa.) - Mike Maney (Clarence/Bald Eagle Area), a senior wrestler for Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, became the 14th grappler in the program’s history to reach the 100-wins plateau after piling on three more wins this weekend at the Clarion Duals.
Maney had a 98-23 career record entering into the three dual meets on Sunday, moving one step closer with an 8-0 major decision over Kent State’s Jason Bake. He entered the history books with a 10-2 major decision over Drexel’s Mark Cartella, moving his four-year total to 100-23.  He added another win versus Pitt-Johnstown’s Ryan Ickes, 5-0, giving him a new total of 101-23 which ranks the Bald Eagle 13th on the school’s all-time win list.
            A two-time All-American and three-time Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference champion, Maney is currently 16-2 this season. His career total of 101-23 (.815 winning pct.) includes 22 wins by major decision, five by technical fall and 21 by pin.
The Bald Eagles, now 3-1 overall, will send select wrestlers to the Midlands Wrestling Championships from Dec. 29-30.
