(Lock Haven, Pa.) - Brooke
Rangi (Kawerau, New Zealand/Kawerau College), a junior member of the Lock
Haven University of Pennsylvania women’s soccer team, was selected as a First
Team member of the NCAA Division II All-Northeast Region team as recently
released.
Rangi, a junior defender, makes her second-straight appearance as a
First Team All-Northeast Region pick, earning similar honors last season as a
forward. A two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)
selection, Rangi also earned Second Team All-America accolades as a forward
last season. This season, Rangi
changed gears and helped direct a defense that allowed 1.91 goals per game and
registered four shutouts. In addition to her defensive skills, she was the
team’s third highest scorer with five goals and four assists added to the
offensive efforts.
The Lock Haven women’s soccer team, under the direction of second-year
head coach Shannon Champ, closed out its 2003 campaign as a PSAC tournament
finalist with a
10-12-1
overall record.
