LHU Basketball's Cannon Named PSAC West Rookie of the Week

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) - Darren Cannon (Wallenpaupack/Wallenpaupack), a freshman guard on the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania men’s basketball team, was selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Rookie of the Week for games ending Dec. 21. 
            The 6’3” rookie guard came off the bench to average 12.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game for the Bald Eagles last week.  He posted 14 points against West Chester University , including four three pointers, and 11 tallies versus Millersville University .  Over the two-game span, Cannon hit half of his long range shots (5-for-10). 
            Cannon is fourth among Bald Eagle scorers, averaging 6.9 points each time out. On the season he is shooting .244-percent from the three-point arc, with 11 made baskets.  Cannon also adds 2.4 rebounds per game and has 12 assists and 10 steals.
            The Bald Eagle basketball team is currently 0-9 overall and will next host Mansfield University on Friday, January 3, at 3 p.m.
