(Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania track and field’s Jim Dempsey (Blue Bell/Wissahickon) was selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for events ending Feb 8.
Dempsey, a freshman for the Bald Eagles, won first place in the high jump at the East Stroudsburg Dick DeSchriver Invitational with clearance of 6’10-1/4”.  That height marks an NCAA provisionally qualifying performance and ties him for the conference’s best effort in the event.  It is also a new school record, bettering the previous mark of 6’8-1/2” last shared by Aaron Wynings (1997) and Glen Allison (1994).
The Lock Haven University track and field teams are at a PSAC Mandated Meet hosted by Slippery Rock University on Sun., Feb. 15, beginning at 10 a.m.
