Chappell Earns PSAC West Rookie of the Week

Haven, Pa.) - Freshman James
Chappell (Coatesville/Coatesville), a guard for the Lock Haven
University of Pennsylvania men’s basketball team, earned the selection as
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Rookie of the
Week honor for games ending February 15. This
is his third such honor.
Chappell
averaged 14.3 points in a three-game stretch for the Bald Eagles.
His top performances came versus regionally ranked teams University of
the
District of Columbia
and
California
(
Pa.
) University, hitting for 19 and 17 points, respectively. He made six of seven
shots against
California
, including three long-range jumpers. Against the
District of Columbia
, he added six assists to his team-high 19 point effort.
Chappell
continues to lead the Haven in scoring, pocketing 11.5 points per outing. The
rookie guard is also the Bald Eagle leader with 41 assists (1.86 apg) and 33
steals (1.5 spg).
The
Bald Eagle basketball team is currently 3-20 overall and 2-7 in the PSAC West.
Lock Haven will next travel to
Shippensburg
University
on Wed., Feb. 18, for an
8 p.m.
contest.
