track and field’s Chris
Cowan (Horseheads, N.Y./Thomas A. Edison) was selected as the
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
for events ending February 15.
Cowan placed third in the 5,000 meter run at the New Balance Armory
Collegiate Invitational with a time of 14:40.05. That time broke a school
record by nearly 17 seconds, provisionally qualified him for nationals and
ranks him first in the conference in the event.
The junior Bald Eagle trackster currently owns the fastest times in the
PSAC in the mile (4:19.86), 3,000 meters (8:35.15) and the 5,000 meters
(14:40.05).

Haven
University
track and field teams will split up
this Saturday, February 21, with part of the team competing at the Denault
Invitational at
Cornell
University
and the other group competing at the
Kent State Tune-Up at
Kent
University
.
