LHU Track and Field's Veldhuis and George Earn 
PSAC Athlete of the Week Honors

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania track and field’s Keith Veldhuis (Thamesford, ONT/Ingersoll DCI) and Precious George (Philadelphia/Academy Park) were selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s and Women’s Track Athletes of the Week for events ending Jan. 18. 
            Earning Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, sophomore Keith Veldhuis scored first place finishes in the 400 meters (52.33) and 55 meter hurdles (8.16) at this weekend’s Kutztown Invitational.  Veldhuis, who already ranks in the top three among conference runners in both events, also teamed up with three other Bald Eagles to take first in the 4x400 meter relay with a winning time of 3:30.36. 
            Lady Eagle freshman Precious George was the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week after setting a new school record with a time of 46.34 in the 300 meter dash at the Kutztown Invitational.  She also won the 55 meter hurdles in a time of 8.76.  George is currently ranked third among PSAC leaders in the high hurdles.
            The Lock Haven University track and field teams will next compete at the Bucknell Octagonal at Bucknell University on Sat., Jan. 24.
