Lady Eagle Swimmers Best Academic Squad in the Nation

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) - The Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania women’s swim team headlines the list of NCAA Division II programs on the 2004 College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-America team list.
            The Lady Eagles combined for a 3.58 overall grade point average to earn top billing on the Division II list and fourth place among all men’s and women’s teams in all divisions.  The Haven, directed by third-year head coach Bart Garlick, posted the program’s highest finish at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships in recent history after taking home sixth place overall.  One individual and two relays earned All-PSAC honors for finishing among the top three in their respective events.  A total of three relay and four individual school records were also rewritten this season.
            Last season the Lady Eagles finished among the top 15 academic teams in Division II.
