LHU's Elliston Tabbed as PSAC and East Region Coach of the Year

(Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania’s 15th-season head track and field coach Mark Elliston was selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and NCAA Division II East Region Men’s Coach of the Year for the indoor track and field season.
Elliston led the 2004 Bald Eagle indoor track and field team to its third-straight PSAC Indoor Track and Field crown, marking team titles in each year of the championship meet’s existence. This season the Haven claimed three individual and two relay championships, in addition to seven runner-up individual performances and a second-place relay, en route to posting a conference meet record of 150 total points in its 46.5-point victory.  The Bald Eagles had 25 athletes qualify for the PSAC Championships in 61 different events and three of those athletes also met provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA championships. Seven school records were broken by Bald Eagle athletes over the course of the season.
Lock Haven men’s indoor track and field was ranked ninth in the final NCAA Division II power rankings and matched the 2003 outdoor season’s achievement of earning the top spot in the East Region rankings.
Coach Elliston was also the PSAC Men’s Indoor Coach of the Year following the 2002 season and was the East Region Coach of the Year after the men’s outdoor season in 2003.
