volleyball’s Cherry Li (
Shanghai
,
China
) was named the Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Rookie of the Year, as voted on by
the league’s coaches.
Li,
a freshman middle hitter for the PSAC champion Lady Eagles, currently leads the
nation with a .468 hitting percentage. She
ranks fifth in the PSAC in kills (498; 4.29/gm), sixth in blocks (124; 1.07/gm)
and 12th in digs (436; 3.76/gm).
A First Team All-PSAC West pick and the only freshman to earn a spot on
either Western Division team, Li also leads LHU with 40 service aces.
The
Lady Eagles are currently 29-5 overall and are fresh off winning the
program’s fourth PSAC title. Ranked No. 1 in the Atlantic Region, Lock Haven
hosts the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championship this weekend, Thursday
through Saturday, Nov. 20-22.
