LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
– The Lock Haven University field hockey team earned one first-team and two
second-team choices on the 2004 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA)
All-Mideast Region Team, the association office announced today. Junior
Rebecca Steffen (Hawley, Pa./Wallenpaupack Area) was selected to the
first team.
A leader on a defensive
line that allowed just a 0.73 goals-against average, Steffen also chipped in
on the offensive side, hitting for three goals and two assists, including
the game-winning strike in a 5-0 victory over Radford University.
Senior forward Kellie
Kulina (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and junior forward Nikki
Sweger (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin East) made the second team.
The Lady Eagles wrapped
up their first season in Division I at 19-1, capturing the 2004 Northeast
Conference Regular-Season Championship.
