LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Lock Haven University field hockey’s Rebecca Steffen (Hawley, Pa./Wallenpaupack
Area) was named a Third Team All-American by WomensFieldHockey.com, the
site reported. A junior back for the 19-1 Lady Eagles, Steffen shored up a
defense that was key to the team’s success in their first Division I season.
A leader on a defensive
line that allowed just a 0.73 goals-against average, Steffen also chipped in
on the offensive side, hitting for three goals and two assists, including
the game-winning strike in a 5-0 victory over Radford University.
The Lady Eagles wrapped
up their first season in Division I at 19-1, capturing the 2004 Northeast
Conference Regular-Season Championship by going 8-0 in conference play.
