LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
– The Lock Haven University volleyball team earned two All-Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West team selections and swept the Athlete
and Rookie of the Year trophies, continuing their dominance of the PSAC this
season. Sophomore Li Yizhi (Shanghai, China) won Athlete of the Year
and Inga Kurgonaite (Kaunas, Lithuania/Yuozas Urbsys) took Freshman
of the Year honors.
An all-America
candidate, Li paced the Lady Eagles with 360 kills and a .460 hitting
percentage. She also tops the team with 332 digs and is
second with 34 service aces. Kurgonaite has been one of the more consistent outside hitters for the
Haven, with 228 kills and 102 blocks, good for second and third on the team,
respectively. Li made the PSAC West First Team, while Kurgonaite earned a
spot on the second squad.

Eagles are back in action in the first round of the NCAA Division II
Championship against North Carolina Central University at 7:30 p.m. in the
Thomas Field House.
