Aided by Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)
Championships in menís soccer, menís cross country and volleyball, Lock
Haven University finished fourth in this yearís Dixon Trophy standings, the
conference office announced May 17.
LHU finished with 114 points, 21.5 off the pace set by winner
Shippensburg University (135.5). Kutztown University (125) took second,
while IUP (120.5) was third.

The F. Eugene Dixon Trophy is awarded by the PSAC to the
member institution whose athletic program earns the best overall finish in
conference championships and/or regular-season play. During the course of
the academic year, points are awarded based on an institution's finish in
the 22 conference sports. Only a schoolís best 12 finishes, six menís and
six womenís, are used in the final calculation of the Dixon Trophy
standings. The Dixon Trophy is named in honor of F. Eugene Dixon Jr.,
Chairman of the State System of Higher Educationís Board of Governors. The
first Dixon Trophy was awarded following the 1995-96 academic year.
