Blood, Cowan Finish 1-2 as #6 Men's Cross Country Takes Third
Women’s finishes 11th at
Gulden Invite
LEWISBURG, Pa. –
The No. 6 Lock Haven University men’s cross country team made
noise on a national stage again today, taking the top two
individual finishes to earn a third-place spot in the team
rankings. The women, missing their top runner to an illness,
finished 11th.
Sophomore Ryan Blood (Summerdale/East Pennsboro) took
individual top honors at 25:13. Chris Cowen a(Horseheads,
N.Y./Thomas A. Edison) finished close behind at 25:20. The
next Haven finisher was Paul Hallman (Langhorne/Neshaminy),
crossing the line in eighth with a time of 24:49.
In the
women’s 6K race, the Lady Eagles scored 296 points, placing
them 11th, ahead of Mount St. Mary’s College.
April Salinas (Mill Hall/Central Mountain) paced the
Lady Eagles, finishing 50th in 24:51. Rounding
out the top three for LHU were junior Sarah Robertson
(Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg), in 68th place with
a time of 25:25 and Leigh Ann Miller (St.
Thomas/James Buchanan) at 26:27 good for 93rd
place.
The
Lock Haven men and women will be back on course this Friday,
Oct. 1 at the National Invitational hosted by Penn State
University.
