KUTZTOWN, Pa.
– On the strength of Ryan Blood’s
(Summerdale, Pa./East Pennsboro) performance, the No. 8
Lock Haven University men’s cross country team took
their second-straight Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference Championship (PSAC) today. The women’s team
finished 11th off 13 teams.
Blood took the
individual title, finishing in 25:36, topping teammate
Chris Cowan (Horseheads,
N.Y./Thomas A. Edison) by 10 seconds. The Haven placed
six runners on the All-PSAC Team, honors given to the
top 15 finishers.
Junior Billy
Buckenmeyer (Alexander,
N.Y./Alexander Central) finished seventh at 26:08,
followed by Joe Wiegner (Ivyland, Pa./Council
Rock) in eighth (26:12) and top freshman Greg Davis
(Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) ninth (26:13).
Rounding out the six for the Bald Eagles was freshman
Shawn Moore (Elverson, Pa./Twin Valley) in 14th
at 26:33.
Top finishers for the
Lady Eagles were junior Sarah Robertson
(Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg Area) in 46th
at 25:42, April Salinas (Mill Hall, Pa./Central
Mountain) in 52nd (25:54) and Kat Davey
(Springfield, Pa./Springfield) in 69th at
26:36.
The men’s squad will
compete in the NCAA Division II East Region
Championships at Indiana University (Pa.) Saturday, Nov.
