INDIANA,
Pa. – Placing
five runners in the top-15 spells great things for any
cross country team. For the #7 Lock Haven University
men’s squad it meant its second-straight NCAA East
Region title. The women’s harriers placed 13th
out of the competitive 25-team field.
Chris Cowan
(Horseheads, N.Y./Thomas
A. Edison) (31:46) and Ryan Blood (Summerdale,
Pa./East Pennsboro) (32:02) finished second and third
overall. The two have been battling amongst themselves
all year long, and today would be no different. Junior
Billy Buckenmeyer (Alexander, N.Y./Alexander
Central) rounds out the top three at sixth in 32:32.
Senior Sarah Robertson
(Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg Area) made the most
out of her final race, finishing 44th in
23:27, a 59-place jump for Robertson from a year ago.
Rounding out the top three for the Lady Eagles were
April Salinas (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) at
67th (24:13) and Kat Davey
(Springfield, Pa./Springfield) at 74th
(24:30).
The men’s team will be back on the course at the NCAA
Division II National Championships at Southern Illinois
University Saturday, Nov. 20.
