(Waltham, Mass. ) - The
Lad Eagles captured their third straight win and first
shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory over the University
of Vermont.
Nikki Sweger (Dauphin/Central Dauphin East)
scored late in the first period to give the Haven the 1-0
advantage. Before the close of the half, Sweger assisted
on a score by Courtney Hughes (Schwenksville/Souderton)
to send the Lady Eagles into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Lock Haven allowed Vermont to get off only three
shots during the second period while recording 10 of its
own.
Kellie Kulina (Hummelstown/Lower Dauphin) scored
the only goal of that half, netting the Haven's third goal
off assists on a penalty corner from Sarah
Huber (Plymouth Meeting/Christopher Dock)
and Katie Stewartz
(Boyertown/Boyertown).
The Lady Eagles play Radford University tomorrow, Sun.,
Sept. 5, at 3 p.m. |
