SHANNA VITALE

Assistant Field Hockey Coach

         Shanna Vitale enters her second season as the assistant coach for the Lock Haven University field hockey team.  She is responsible for assisting in all phases of the program, including game plans, scouting, academic monitoring and recruiting.
        A 2001 graduate of Lock Haven University, Vitale achieved recognition as the 2000 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Athlete of the Year and Honda Broderick nominee.  A three-time All-American (2000, 1998, 1997), the PSAC Athlete of the Year (2000), a three-time All-PSAC forward and an NCAA Championship All-Tournament team member, Vitale has even been pictured in Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd feature (11/27/00).
          Over the span of her two year career at Lock Haven, Vitale recorded a total of 39 goals, including 17 during her senior season, to rank eighth on the Lady Eagles’ all-time goals list.  She was a member of the 2000 national championship squad and two PSAC championship teams (1998, 2000) while at The Haven.
         Prior to her return to Lock Haven, Vitale served as a coaching intern at Wooster College, working with the field hockey and lacrosse teams.
