LHU Football Coach Luther Accepts Re-assignment

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Lock Haven University Director of Athletics Sharon Taylor has announced today that head football coach Mark Luther has accepted a re-assignment of his duties to the University.

“We appreciate Mark’s dedication to Lock Haven University and to our football program over the last five years,” Taylor said. “He will continue to play an active and valuable role for the University in his new assignment.”

The Bald Eagles were 3-8 in the 2004 season, including the first two overtime victories in the school’s history.

Luther has been at the helm of the LHU football squad for five seasons, beginning in 2000. A 1992 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, he has compiled a 16-39 record with LHU and a PSAC West Coach of the Year trophy in 2002.

Terry Szucs will serve as interim head coach until a successor is named, and the current staff will remain in place.

“A national search will undertaken immediately,” Taylor said, “and we hope to name a head coach very soon, due to timing in this critical recruiting period.”
