HAVEN, Pa. – The
Lock Haven University football team marked the end of their 3-8 season by
holding their annual football awards banquet. Awards and honors were handed
out to several students who were crucial players throughout the season.
With a
school record 691 career carries, senior Maurice Walker (N.
Braddock/Woodland Hills) collected the George “Big Train” Dintiman
Offensive MVP award. He also ranks third in career rushing yards (2,783),
third in career all-purpose yards (3,610), and third in career rushing
touchdowns with 17. Last season he rushed for 925 yards, marking another
career high.
Earning the
Hubert Jack Most Improved award was sophomore Michael Slatcoff (Sandy
Lake/Cochranton). Earning Scout Team MVP offensive honors was freshman
William Pryor (Baltimore, Md./City College), while freshman Dion
Kline (Mifflingburg/Mifflinburg Area) earned defensive honors.
Receiving the Dr. Ted Lyons Outstanding Freshman award was Corey Gildea
(Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg Area).
