NEW CASTLE, Del. – The Lock Haven University men’s soccer team (0-1) fell to Wilmington University (1-0-1) 1-0 today in the Bald Eagles 2008 season opener.
Wilmington scored the lone goal of the match in the 63rd minute as Nickalus McDonald found the back of the net for the host team.
Each team recorded seven shots and WU held the slight advantage in corners kicks, 8-6.
Billy Trimble (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) played all 90 minutes in net for LHU.
The Bald Eagles return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 4 p.m. when they travel to No. 15 Gannon University. LHU opens the season with four straight road games before finally opening their home slate on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. against California (Pa.) University.
