Christie Naumann had a solid day for LHU.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (4-0) picked up two more wins today, improving to 4-0 on the year.
The Lady Eagles kicked off day two at the Shepherd University tournament by downing Central State University 3-0.
Lock Haven dominated in the opening match of the day and won by scores of 25-9, 25-6 and 25-8.
The big story of match one against Central State was LHU’s 25 aces. The Haven also recorded 11 digs and five blocks.
Christie Naumann (Charters Towers, Austrailia/Gladstone) had five kills and hit .400 while Christina Laury (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) recorded four kills and hit .600.
The team’s kill percentage in match one today was .340.
Fabianna Gomez (Montevideo, Uruguay/Consejo de E.S.) had 10 assists and Caroline Acosta (Los Altos, Calif./Los Altos) recorded 11 assists.
In the second match of the day Lock Haven took on Shepherd University for the second time in as many days, but this time Shepherd seemed a bit more prepared than yesterday’s match where LHU won 3-0.
SU took game one 26-24, but LHU responded in a big way eventually winning 3-1.
The Lady Eagles won a tough battle in game two, 25-21.
With the match noted a one game a piece, Lock Haven put it away, dominating in games three and four.
LHU won game three 25-15 and took the final game 25-16.
Lock Haven was on fire in games three and four hitting .500 and .533, respectively.
Naumann again led the way with 13 kills while Stacey Borgia (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) knocked down 12. Borgia hit .320 over the four-game match.
Freshman Haley Gribler (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy-Liberty) had 10 kills.
Gomez had 36 assists.
Borgia had an all-around solid outing as she also recorded three solo blocks and four block assists.
LHU head coach Tom Justice was pleased with his team’s 4-0 start, but also said they had a lot of work to do.
The Lady Eagles are back in action on Friday, Sept. 5 at 4:30 when they take on Alderson Broaddus as part of the Lock Haven Classic Volleyball Tournament hosted by LHU in Thomas Fieldhouse.
