LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (6-0) went 2-0 today at its own LHU Classic Volleyball Tournament.
With the two victories Lock Haven improves to a perfect 6-0 on the year. The Lady Eagles have only lost one game all season as they swept both matches 3-0 today.
In game one today, LHU downed Alderson-Broaddus College 3-0, winning 25-19, 25-22 and 25-22.
Leading the way in game one was senior Stacey Borgia (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail), who recorded a team-high 12 kills in the win.
Christie Naumann (Charters Towers, Austrailia/Gladstone) and Christina Laury (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) weren’t right behind with 11 and nine, respectively.
Laury also had a team-high five digs.
Fabianna Gomez (Montevideo, Uruguay/Consejo de E.S.) had 38 assists in game one.
In game two Lock Haven rolled past American International College 3-0 (25-19, 25-11 & 25-23).
Naumann and Borgia were once again the leaders racking up 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
Laury also contributed well with nine kills and Gomez recorded a team-high 30 kills.
The Lady Eagles are back at it tomorrow at the LHU Classic. They play at 10 a.m. against Elizabeth City State University.
