Brandon Pomerantz led the way today as both the Bald and Lady Eagles XC teams turned in strong outings.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s and women’s cross country teams were in action today at the Husky Invitational hosted by Bloomsburg University.
The Bald Eagles took home top honors in the team race after a dominating performance.
The Haven men’s team went 1-4 and put their top seven runners all within the top 13 athletes in the race.
The men racked up a team score of 18 points followed by second-place Bloom with a score of 37.
Leading the way for the men was Brandon Pomerantaz (Holland, Pa./Council Rock North), who won the 8K race with a time of 26:48.
Nick Hilton (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) was right behind Pomerantz and not far behind Hilton was Tim Getz (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasbury) and rookie Mitch Miller (Morrisville, N.Y./Morrisville-Eaton) as the foursome led LHU.
Hilton ran 26:48.5, as Getz clocked a 27:03 and Miller ran 27:04.
Sean Craig (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) was eighth overall for the Bald Eagles.
The Lady Eagles also turned in a sensational early season performance as they placed second today at Bloomsburg.
Leading the way for the Lady Eagles was freshman Lindsey Lambert (Howell, N.J./Howell), who took second overall. She covered the 6K course in 23:06.
Alyssa Douma (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) and Shala Simms (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) went 5-6, with times of 24:30 and 24:32, respectively.
Melinda Liptak (Gilbertsville, Pa/Marywood Univ.) was 11th overall and Jenelle Gobel (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) finished 14th.
Both teams are back in action next week at the LHU Invitational (Saturday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m.).
