LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Brandon Pomerantz (Holland, Pa./Council Rock North) of the Lock Haven University men’s cross country team has been named HavenSports.com Athlete of the Week for his recent efforts on the course in leading the Bald Eagles.
This week marks the first time the HavenSports.com Athlete of the Week award has been handed out.
Pomerantz led The Haven this weekend, as the men’s team took first place honors at the Husky Invitational hosted by Bloomsburg.
He was also the individual champion, finishing first out of 50 runners.
The Bald Eagles turned in a dominating performance led by Pomerantz, who covered the 8K course in 26:48 as Lock Haven swept spots 1-4.
The HavenSports.com Athlete of the Week will be a weekly award given to a Lock Haven athlete who has excelled in his or her field of competition. The award is voted on a by a pre-established voting committee. The award winner will be featured on HavenSports.com.
