LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (4-2) dropped visiting Lafayette (3-2) 3-1 today extending its win streak to two games.
With the win LHU improves to 4-2 overall and 2-1 at home this season.
Three different Lady Eagles scored goals today as The Haven control the flow of the match throughout the contest.
With less than seven minutes to play in the opening half Blair Wynne (Trinidad and Tobago/Sangre Grande) broke open the scoring, drilling home a penalty corner.
Wynne and the Lady Eagles took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) made it 2-0 after she scored off a Kristi Shepps (Willow Street, Pa./Penn Manor) assist.
Lafayette would however cut into the Haven lead.
Shepps added an insurance goal for the crimson and white with just three seconds left in the contest off an assist from back Emma Wessner (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown).
Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. when they travel to Colgate.
