SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s soccer team (4-4-1) cruised past host Shippensburg University (1-4-2) 3-0 today as the Bald Eagles earned the shut out.
Billy Trimble (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) played strong in net for LHU making seven saves in the win.
The Haven led 1-0 at the break thanks to a Colin Callaghan (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) goal in the 28th minute.
Doug Moran (Butler, Pa./Butler) added a goal in the 39th minute to put LHU up 2-0 and Martin Peltz (Pittsburgh/Carlynton) capped off the scoring with a header to the back of the net late in the match.
With the win the Bald Eagles improve to 4-4-1 on the season.
Lock Haven is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m. on the road at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division action. Lock Haven is 1-1 on the year in PSAC West play and kickoff Tuesday is set for 4 p.m.
