MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (15-0) picked up two more wins today, downing Bloomfield College and Millersville University at Millersville.
The Lady Eagles won both matches 3-1, downing Bloomfield 25-15, 21-25, 25-19 and 25-11.
LHU beat Millersville 25-19, 25-19, 21-25 and 29-27.
With the 2-0 day, LHU improves to a perfect 15-0 on the year.
Leading the way against Bloomfield was Stacy Borgia (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail), who had a team-high 21 kills and hit .666.
Christie Naumann (Charters Towers, Austrailia/Gladstone) had 10 kills and Haley Gribler (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy-Liberty) had eight. Naumann hit .350, while Gribler hit .461.
Gribler also added six aces while Borgia led The Haven in blocking with three solo blocks and one block assist.
Fabianna Gomez (Montevideo, Uruguay/Consejo de E.S.) had 41 assists.
In the Millersville match it was again Borgia leading the way with 17 kills. She hit a very solid .533.
Gribler turned in another strong performance with a 10-kill effort.
Juliana Nascimento (Guarulhos, Brazil/Seward C.C.) was huge against Millersville turning in a 15-kill match. She hit .413 to help lead LHU.
Gomez had an impressive 52 assists.
Christina Laury (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) and Naumman each had seven kills to help pace Lock Haven’s effort.
The Lady Eagles are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. when they travel to West Chester University for Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action.
