LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Sophomore Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) of the Lock Haven University field hockey team has been named HavenSports.com Athlete of the Week.

Hordendorf played a huge role in the Lady Eagles 3-0 week.

Lock Haven’s potent offensive attack was clicking on all cylinders this past week as the Lady Eagles went 3-0, extending their win streak to five games and improving to 7-2 overall.

LHU outscored its opponents 13-2 in the three matches and Hordendorf led the way with a team-high six goals. She also dished out one assist for a league-best 13 points.

In a 2-1 win over La Salle on the road, she scored the games first goal in the 21st minute.

Hordendorf followed that up with a two-goal, one assist outing in a lopsided 7-1 win at home over Colgate.

Hordendorf saved the best for last and capped of the weekend with the natural hat trick in a 4-0 shut out of visiting Bucknell Sunday. She scored the first of her three goals just 1:25 in and recorded all three strikes in the opening half of play.

This is the second week in a row a Lady Eagles field hockey player has taken home HavenSports.com Athlete of the Week accolades.

The HavenSports.com Athlete of the Week is in its third week and will be a weekly award given to a Lock Haven athlete, who has excelled in his or her field of competition. The award is voted on a by a pre-established voting committee. The award winner will be featured on HavenSports.com.
