SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women’s soccer team (4-5, 2-4 PSAC West) fell to Slippery Rock University (6-1-1, 4-1-1 PSAC West) 2-0 tonight in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.
SRU scored both of its goals in the first 45 minutes of play as the Lady Eagles pushed the pressure during the second half, but just couldn’t put one home.
LHU head coach Heather Davis was pleased with her team’s second half performance tonight, despite the loss.
Davis noted the play of sophomore forward Arielle Gordon (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) and The Haven’s defensive unit.
Rookie Haley Zinn (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) played the second half in goal for LHU and made four saves.
The Lady Eagles are back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. when they play host to No. 24 Mercyhurst University in PSAC West action.
