LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University swim team kicked off their 2008 season this morning as the Lady Eagles split their squad for an inter-squad season-opening meet.

The Crimson team beat the White 44-43.

LHU head coach Andy Weager was pleased with the team’s effort today.

Waeger called it a great back and forth meet between the split squad.

Amanda Palmer (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) broke two meet records in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM with times of 1:04.57 and 2:26.70, respectively.

Amanda Terray (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) broke a record in the 100 free with a time of 58.23. Sam Durham (Walkersville,Md./Walkersville) also broke the pervious meet record in this event, but was touched out by Terray at the wall.

“This was a great day of racing and really sets us up well for our upcoming meets,” Waeger added.
