LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Junior Suzann Hobart (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) of the Lock Haven University field hockey team has been named HavenSports.com Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 14, 2008.
Hobart played a huge role in the Lady Eagles’ opening week of Northeast Conference (NEC) play. She helped lead the Lady Eagles to a 2-0 week.
Lock Haven’s dynamic offensive attack was clicking on all cylinders this past week as the Lady Eagles went 2-0, improving to 12-3 overall and 2-0 in the NEC.
LHU outscored its opponents 6-0 in the two contests as Hobart led the way with seven total points that included three goals and one assist. She leads the team with 11 assists on the season.
In a 1-0 NEC win over Saint Francis on the road, she assisted on the game-winning tally in the 65th minute of play.
Hobart then led The Haven with three goals in its 5-0 win over Robert Morris University.
This is the fourth HavenSports.com Athlete of the Week honor for the Lady Eagles field hockey team this season.
The HavenSports.com Athlete of the Week is in its sixth week and will be a weekly award given to a Lock Haven athlete, who has excelled in his or her field of competition. The award is voted on a by a pre-established voting committee. The award winner will be featured on HavenSports.com.
