Lady Eagles cruise past RMU 5-0 in NEC action

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (12-3, 2-0 NEC) was firing on all cylinders today as the Lady Eagles cruised past Robert Morris (4-9, 1-2 NEC) 5-0 on Charlotte Smith Field.

Lock Haven held a lopsided 26-1 advantage in shots and scored four first half goals to pace the explosive offensive attack today.

LHU also got a solid defensive outing as The Haven posted its 12th win of the year and second straight Northeast Conference (NEC) win.

Lock Haven was led by Suzann Hobart (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land), who turned in a three-goal performance.

Blair Wynne (Arima, Trinidad & Tabago/Sangre Grande) posted two goals as both came off penalty corner plays.

Emma Wessner (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) and Amanda Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) led Lock Haven’s defensive effort on the day. Additionally, they both picked up a pair of assists as the two combined to set up both of Wynne’s penalty corner strikes.

Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) also picked up one assist.

Erin Terreson (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) only faced one shot and was up for the task.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Friday, Oct. 17 at 3:30 when they travel to Quinnipiac University for more conference play.
