LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s soccer team (8-4-3) dominated the visiting University of District of Columbia (2-8-2) on its way to a 6-0 win at Hubert Jack Stadium in non-conference action.

With the win the Bald Eagles extend their unbeaten streak to seven games, having gone 5-0-2 in that stretch.

Lock Haven made it look easy as they scored early and often, dominating every facet of the match for the entire 90 minutes.

Five different players scored for LHU.

Tommy Ehrlich (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) led the way with a five-point afternoon. Ehlich netted his first two goals of the season and assisted on one other.

Martin Pletz (Pittsburgh/Carlynton) continued his hot streak with a goal and an assist. Pletz’s goal marked his team-best sixth of the year.

Rookie Greg Shertzer (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest), the reigning Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Player of the Week also had a three-point game with one goal and an assist.

Goalie Chris Custer (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) made the first start of his career and was stellar to say the least. He was tested several times and made six saves, several of which were spectacular ones. His best came with just seconds left in the match as he preserved his first shutout.

The Bald Eagles got solid outings from up and down the roster as LHU head coach Doug Moore played 19 different players.

Defensively LHU saw strong showings from Drew Clemens (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) and Kevin McCune (Butler, Pa./Butler) among others.

Paul Huckett (Grimsby, England/Grimsby College) opened the scoring less than five minutes into the match after he put home a ball slotted across the penalty box from Pletz.

William Pasukinis (Benton, Pa./Benton) also scored for LHU and Doug Moran (Butler, Pa./Butler) added one assist.

The Bald Eagles are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. when they travel to California (Pa.) University for a crucial PSAC Western Division clash.
