LHU Cross Country

Lock Haven cross country teams turn in solid outing
 

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s and women’s cross teams turned in a solid showing at today’s Penn State National Meet hosted by Penn State at the Blue/White Golf Course.

The Bald Eagles, ranked No. 25 in Division II took 14th overall. Georgetown, ranked eighth nationally in D-I topped the 28-team field with 43 points.

The Haven men turned in the best performance of any Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) team.

Tim Getz (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasbury) was LHU’s top finisher, followed very closely by Nick Hilton (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township). The two finished 46th and 47th, running 26:10 and 26:22, respectively.

Brandon Pomerantaz (Holland, Pa./Council Rock North) placed 88th in the 306-person field with a time of 26:39.

The Lady Eagles took 19th overall today at PSU. West Virginia, ranked seventh nationally at the D-I level took home the women’s team title with 40 points, besting the 28-team field.

Freshman Lindsey Lambert (Howell, N.J./Howell) was LHU’s top runner as she placed 50th with a time of 21:51.

Shala Simms (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) was 68th with a time of 22:09.

Alyssa Douma (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) placed 133rd in the 300-women field with a time of 23:04.

Both teams are back in action at the PSAC Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m., hosted by LHU.
