Hobart’s four-goal performance leads Lady Eagles

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (14-3, 4-0 NEC) remained perfect in Northeast Conference (NEC) play today with a 5-1 over host Sacred Heart (5-11, 3-2 NEC).

The Lady Eagles led 1-0 at halftime, but tallied four second-half goals to down Sacred Heart on the road.

With the win LHU also extends its NEC unbeaten mark to 19 matches.

Suzann Hobart (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) was the difference in today’s contest as she posted four goals and added one assist. She put LHU up 1-0 in the 30th minute on an unassisted tally.

Freshman Kristi Schepps (Willow Street, Pa./Penn Manor) put LHU up 2-0 in the 45th minute off a pass from Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights).

Hobart would go on to score two more goals, making 4-0 before Sacred Heart finally got on the board in the 66th minute. Less than a minute after the hosts scored Hobart added an insurance goal with less than four minutes to play to lift LHU to the 5-1 win.

Erin Terreson (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) made six saves in the win.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Friday, Oct. 24 at 4 p.m. when they play host to Monmouth University in NEC play.
