Field hockey remains perfect in NEC play, Lady Eagles down Monmouth 3-0
 

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (15-3, 5-0 NEC) remained perfect in Northeast Conference (NEC) play today as the Lady Eagles downed visiting Monmouth University (3-13, 2-3 NEC) 3-0 on Charlotte Smith Field.

With the win LHU improves to a sensational 15-3 and remains perfect in NEC play with a 5-0 record. The win also extends LHU’s NEC unbeaten streak to 20 matches.

The Lady Eagles got a tremendous defensive effort today and three different players scored for The Haven.

Emma Wessner (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) put LHU up 1-0 in the 30th minute off a pass from Blair Wynne (Trinidad & Tobago/Sangre Grande).

Lock Haven took the 1-0 lead into halftime, but quickly jumped on the Hawks early in the second.

Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) scored just 1:15 into the second off an assist from rookie Kristi Schepps (Willow Street, Pa./Penn Manor).

Shortly thereafter Lock Haven went up 3-0, as Wynne drilled a ball to the back of the cage after a tremendous one-person effort.

Erin Terreson (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) made seven saves in the win.

The Lady Eagles return on action on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. when they play host to Rider University in NEC action.
