CLARION, Pa. The Lock Haven University swim team turned in a solid early season performance today at the Clarion University Fall Classic.
The Lady Eagles finished fourth as a team.
Leading the way was returning All-American Amanda Terray (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley). The sophomore finished first in the 200 backstroke and second in the 100 back. Terray clocked 2:09.87 in the 200 and 1:00.94 in the 100.
Junior Amanda Palmer (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) also turned in a very impressive outing. She was second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:21.30. Palmer also placed third in the 400 IM with a mark of 5:05.37.
Rookie Kasey Campbell (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) was fourth in the 1650 with a time of 19:40.44. Her time marked the fifth fasted time in school history.
LHU head coach Andy Waeger called it great start for a freshman.
Waeger was also pleased with the overall effort today.
It was our first traditional meet of the year and it was a great way to
kick off the season, Waeger said.
We swam a lot of races in a short amount of time and I am confident that we will continue to improve as the season progresses.
The Lady Eagles are back in action next Saturday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. when they travel to Mansfield Univesity.
