Hordendorf named NEC Player of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Sophomore Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) of the Lock Haven University field hockey team has been named Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week for her recent efforts in leading the Lady Eagles to the top of the NEC standings.

Hordendorf was a big reason behind Lock Haven’s 2-0 week, as she carried the offensive load with a goal in each match.

The two wins, both in NEC play were huge for The Haven, as LHU now sits atop the conference with a perfect 6-0 mark.

Hordendorf netted one goal in the 3-0 win over Monmouth and followed that up with a huge goal yesterday afternoon.

Just 5:35 into overtime, she netted the game-winner as Lock Haven downed conference-rival Rider 1-0 in a battle for NEC supremacy

This is the third such award this season for Hordendorf and this marks the sixth time in 2008 that a Lady Eagles has been named NEC Player of the Week.
