LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (17-3, 7-0 NEC) won its fifth straight Northeast Conference (NEC) Regular Season Title this afternoon after ripping past host Siena College (1-15, 1-6 NEC) 8-0.

With the win the Lady Eagles cap off their second consecutive perfect NEC season with a 7-0 mark.

The win also extends LHU’s recent win streak to seven games and stretches The Haven’s run to 22 straight wins over NEC foes.

It didn’t take long for LHU to get on the board, as sophomore Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) put Lock Haven up 1-0 just 2:15 in.

Less than four minutes later it was 2-0 Hordendorf as she netted her second goal of the match to put The Haven up 2-0 less than seven minutes into the contest.

Lock Haven, who outshot Siena 41-0 led 5-0 at halftime.

Senior Jill Houtz (Myerstown Pa./ Eastern Lebanon) scored LHU’s third goal.

Mary Keister (Mifflinburg Pa./Mifflinburg) and Kristi Shepps (Willow Street, Pa./Penn Manor) both tallied goals before the half.

Keister added another strike in the second as her and Hordendorf both recorded two-goal outings.

Carly Fry (Newville, Pa./Big Spring) and Meghan Armstrong (Hunt Valley Md./Dullaney) rounded out the scoring for Lock Haven.

Suzann Hobart (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) had two assists in the win.

The Lady Eagles are back in action next Friday, Nov. 7 when LHU hosts the 2008 NEC tournament. Lock Haven will be looking for the three-peat and a berth into the NCAA Division I play-in match.
